News, fine Jewellery and a Dress

"Care for a cup of coffee?" Tabita asked me warmly.

It was 8am. Even the sun was still on the other side of the city.

"Yes, please." I answered in a rushtaking my clothes off.  A shiver went down my spine and my skin scrambled into a million tiny goose bumps. Then, all of a sudden, I felt a strong yearning for the torrid summer days, that now seemed so painfully far away.

I took a sequin black dress with me and left to the changing room. It was heavy, much like any other valuable clothing item.

I pulled it up, slowly and gently over my body, letting my lingerie fall to rest on the floor. It was the type of dress, that didn't need anything underneath, nothing except for your heated skin and lots of attitude.

I turn around and went back to my coffee. It was sitting on a varnished wooden table, so clear, it could have mirrored every single cloud on the morning sky, if the tall curtains weren't standing in between.

Vlad was still on the way, so I decided I'd just relax for another minute or two, 'till reality sinked in. I opened the two white boxes sitting in front of me and let all my thoughts be blown away by the beauty of the sight. The jewels inside of them were masterpieces.

"Chiar te rog." ii spun, incepand sa-mi dau jos din haine.

Intru in cabina de proba cu o rochie neagra in mana.

I took my time to get in the mood. Vlad was late and I tried to make the most of it.

If you've had any encounters with a photo camera, then I'm sure you know it sometimes manages to capture more than you can see with the plain eye. Somehow, in a picture, you can go deeper and tell how somebody is really feeling.

Micro-expressions, hidden sorrows, inner values or passionate obsessions, you can read them all from a photograph. No matter how much you lie to your photographer or to yourself, I think you can't lie to a camera.

Of course, the lens distorts the image, as much the face or the eyes, as well as the light or the space. But we're not aiming for perfection here, nor do we want to make an editorial, but rather, capture a moment in a day, in a life as hectic, full and unpolished as any other, but that excites me and challenges me day by day.

But let's just start with the beginning. How about I tell you how we ended up here in the first place?

Oh, in the mean time Vlad came along. His face was red from the cold outside. It was half past 8 by now, but it felt more like 8 in the evening, when all the grand events start accepting their exuberant guests..

Sigur, lentilele distorsioneaza, atat fetele, ochii si figura, cat si lumina si spatiul.

Dar hai sa-ti spun cum am ajuns aici, vrei?

Tabita, that was politely making some coffee for Vlad, is the designer of the dress I had on. The huge crystal chandelier, the golden ceiling, the gowns, were all in a historical house in the centre of our city, Cluj. It was her showroom.

The flash went off with a quiet mechanical sound, marking each pose. I was taking a stand in the mirror, in different positions, absent minded. My eyes wandered from Vlad, to the lens, to Tabita's blond hair, that looked so bright in the golden room, to my body, that basically yelled at me for not going to the gym lately, to the earrings I already adored. I would pinpoint my gaze on them, trying to act like a professional model.. still getting in the mood.

Ma asezam in oglinda, in diverse feluri, aproape absenta de la propriile miscari. Inca imi intram in stare.

It was the second time I entered this building. The first time, I came, I was here to meet the ladies and have a chat.

Tabita and her partner, Silvana, had a proposal for me, that kept me awake with excitement that night.

Although I've got hundreds of calls and emails from local and international brands, with all kind of ideas on how we can collaborate, in these past two years and a half of blogging, all of them wanted me to let people know that they're here.  But this time, it was the other way around. The girls wanted to help me out to spread the world about my own collection.

Tabita invited me to leave a few feathery items in her showroom.

Feather Manifesto was soon to receive a physical little corner in the real world, not just the virtual one you can find in my Shop. I think it's an awesome idea, because it gives all the girls that want to see them, touch them or try them on, a chance to do so at any time. At least for the girls staying in Cluj, or maybe in Targu Mures, where Tabita also has a showroom.

The two are called Elen's by Tabita Gliga.

Era a 2-a oara cand paseam in incapere.

Cel putin, cele aflate in Cluj, si poate in Targu Mures, unde Tabita mai are un magazin.

Elen's by Tabita Gliga.

The coffee was starting to hit in and I was slowly warming up. I was trying on Tabita's dress for a future event I'm attending. I picked it up right from the hanger, even without knowing it had that cut out pattern, that fascinated me later so much.

Backless dresses have always been my weakness, when it comes to gowns. I've always thought they are the most seductive, no matter what cut, colour or material comes to count. In this case, the manually knit sequins and those provocative cuts, that flatter the body's natural shape, would challenge a man's senses more than the missing textile on the back, but for, that was still more important.

The accessories you've seen throughout this article were a gift from  House of Treasure, a brand I think you ought to know about. But I'll let you in on the details in a jiffy.

Ever since those two little, white boxes have landed on my front porch, they have been with me on every special occasion, overshadowing the rest of my collection.

The Venus ring has been my engagement ring's substitute for a the whole time I wore the latter hanging around my neck.

It was a sweet coincidence, that it showed up right after our arrival back home from Italy, when we were still starstruck by our burning secret, our engagement. The Venus ring fits the classic engagement ring standard, with a large diamond or crystal as the primary focus point.

Andrei was pretty jealous, to say the least, and the ring has brought me an unbelievable amount of compliments throughout the days.

Vlad was taking close ups of the ring, while Alex Maxim, photographer and friend, came along and filmed a few short clips, all while I was telling Tabita about my jewels. She was curious about them, so I went ahead and told her everything I knew:

"It's a Romanian online shop, with the most exquisite pieces. But that's not it. Actually, what makes them special is that they only make a narrow selection of the finest items, having a total of only 50 jewelry styles available at a time. They kinda focus on quality, rather than quantity, you know?"

"Interesting." she followed, without taking her eyes off my earrings.

"Yup. I really liked their whole concept. They define their selection process as curatorial.." I explained, when a modern art gallery popped up in my imagination.

With 'curatorial' they mean, that they're guided by particular principles when they select the jewellry they build, just like art currators. To be more precise, taking a look on their website, I found it's 6 fundamental values they have:

Selection, context, arangement, expertise, unity and being up to date, forever changing the jewells in their store. You can read more about all of this right here, if you're interested in the details.

Well, it truly matters for a brand in this niche to know how to make a quality product, that fits perfectly in today's social context and that is presented to the public properly, but, just as in an art gallery, where an exhibition takes place and you have a bunch of people admiring the art, each and every one of those people will percieve it in his own, unique way. That's why our experience to the jewellry itself is what matters most.

The ring I attached down below, is for me the engagement ring's substitute. The timing and the inside story had made it that way, no matter how funny it may sound. Most people thought it was from Andrei. It's shine and beauty just coudn't go unnoticed. Wearing it was a luxury, especially when I had a burning secret to keep.

I was so flattered for receiving this gift from the House of Treasure team, that it really made it to the most beautiful things my blog had brought me over time. I'm sure I'll keep treasuring it up until I grow old.

But I do imagine it may be even more satisfying to receive it in a different context. Like a gift from a lover, a husband, a friend, even from yourself.

The truth is I've always liked women that got themselves gifts. I think it has to do with self worth and self respect, that you should have a healthy dose of, in order to be independent. You can't sit around waiting for other people to make you happy, now can you?

Well, at least I like to think that I'm one of those women.

Now, about the earrings, I honestly don't think there's any comment needed. Their double plated with platinum and stacked with crystals and the two main crystals are a marquis cut and a pear shape.

They're called Singularity and are exactly like the name suggests, singular, unique.

Cat despre cercei, nici nu stiu daca e necesara o descriere in plus.

Singularity earrings.

As any self-respecting brand, this one has a story and it also has a branding that matches the products they offer.

When I buy something, I'm always looking for the complete experience. The shop, weather it's physical or digital, needs to mirror the brand, then, there should be a warm welcome to invite you in, even the bags you receive when you leave the store have to round up the experiencce. So, imagine how pleased I was when I got to open te letter from House of Treasure, that was so elegantly closed with black wax. A delight!

Inside, a signature of the people who carefully packed my gifts, and from the one who took care of the curatorial process of my items. Ten, there was the warranty for all the jewells.

Back at Elen's with Tabita, Vlad and Alex: we started packing our stuff and saying our good byes.

Me and Tabita will have a lot more to talk about in the future. We already started drawing the contour of what is soon to be a breathtaking outfit. I really liked talking to her, we saw eye to eye on everything we disscussed, which made me feel I ended up in the right place.

As much as Feather Manifesto , the collection is concerned, I'll keep you posted for when it will be available in their shop. Right now, my feathery items are in Bucharest, waiting to show up on TV.

My life seems to be speeding up towards my dreams and I'm so glad I'm not alone on my way there.

The coffee is done, it's 13 O'clock. I'm saving my post and standing up from my desk, I still got so much to do.
